Description
This is a custom crafted, 7 foot 2 1/2 inch 12-20lb Super Seeker Big Game spinning rod. I built this rod to be used for about any type of fishing that you would use a midsized spinning rod for, throw poppers or jigs to schooling dolphin, to use yellow tail snapper or mangro snapper fishing or to cast to snook, red fish or trout. About anything. This is part of the Silver Series of Super Seeker rods built by BaR-BaR Tackle. Our line up includes stand up rods, spinning rods, casting rods, bottom rods and jigging rods .. If you don't see it just ask .. The12-20 lb rod is one i just don't leave home with out, i love this blanks action. Power and finesse.... The tip is forgiving and the back bone comes up fast. This rod has the same wonderful action and the same great recoil that all the Super Seeker blanks possess. The blank is the Super Seeker SSCLlB F706 with the tip and gimbal the rod comes out at 7 foot 2 1/2 inches. I wanted to offer a choice of a lighter rod then our 20-50lb or our 20-30 Big Game Super Seeker spinner . The 7 single foot guides and tip are the newer Forecast PVD TiCh 304 stainless frames with the TiCh coated zirconium rings, these are perfect guides for a heavy duty multi purpose spinning rod. The reel seat has a graphite body and silver aluminum hoods with a locking nut along with the tightening nut, the locking nut is unusual on spinning rods .... but I like it. With the price of good spinning reels, the extra security of locking nut only makes sense to me. The heavy duty marine grade Alps aluminum gimbal is also silver, both the hoods and nuts on the reel seat and the gimbal are a perfect match for the silver foil in the wraps. The feature that made me choose the Alps gimbal is the elongated side slots. The slots are cut deeper on the sides of the gimbal then on the top to allow you to keep the gimbal on the bar of your belt easier as you point your rod side to side. The rear grip is EVA foam from Mooseskin .. it is a smallish 1 1/4 in in diameter ... i like the smaller diameter rear grips ... The fore grip is a custom manufactured triangular shaped grip 10 inches long. We had these grips manufactured to our specifications. It is a great size to hold, and is shaped to have a flawless transition from the reel seat, and to the blank. It is embossed with the BaR-BaR name on the top to give added texture to grip. We found some time ago the triangular style grip will allow you to hold the rod more steady and eliminate some of the twist and turn you get with round fore grips. We have been using the triangular grips on stand up and jigging rods for some time. Recently on a long range tuna trip, I ask one of the guys that was approaching and hour with his battle with a 100 lb plus yellow fin on his spinner ... "what would you change about that rod right now" All he said was "i wish i had a triangular grip" .. he was right ... for long fights or for holding your rod for long periods of time the triangular grip is much more comfortable. So that is what you will find on our Silver Series Big Game spinning rods ... The rod is wrapped in black with the trim in a silver foil. With the unique BaR-BaR fancy wrap of silver and black, this color combo is beautiful on the dark tangerine Super Seeker blank. This makes for a beautiful rod. The action is excellent with outstanding lifting power and recoil. This rod was build by BaR-BaR Tackle .
