Description
EVERS & WHATLEY ELECTRIC, Inc. PHONE (870) 863-4494 FAX (870) 863-5219 311 CAMPBELL ROAD revers@ipa.net EL DORADO, ARKANSAS 7173 ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER PARADE SADDLE Talk about Flashy and Fabulous! This saddle was made by POWDER RIVER SADDLE C0MPANY in the 1950’s. POWDER RIVER SADDLE COMPANY was a division of Denver Dry Goods. This saddle is a real collector’s dream. It is superbly constructed and all the metal parts are Sterling Silver. There are twenty one 18 carat GOLD horse heads on the saddle. The hand engraving in the leather is very rare. The saddle has a matching Breast Collar and Bridle. The BRIDLE has large STERLING SILVER side panels (rather than the usual small conchos) along with 7 Gold Plated horse heads. This outfit includes the original red, white and black Corona Pad. These pads are literally impossible to find these days. Being over 50 years old, the pad doesn’t look as good as the picture, but the saddle, breast collar and bridle DO look as good as the picture. This rig is of the Roy Rogers and Gene Autry era; NO ONE makes saddles like this anymore. Saddles like this reside in museums or are owned by private collectors. You also see them ridden in parades like the ROSE PARADE in Pasadena on New Years day. Only a few saddles of this quality and in this condition, exist today. It is rare to find saddles like this for sale. Most have been handed down from generation to generation. A Silver Saddle like this, that belonged to Roy Rogers sold for $450,000.00. I am NOT Roy, but this saddle is in as good of shape as his was. You can reach me at 870 918-6612 or e-mail me. I can ship anywhere in the continental US for about $280, insurance included. The best means of payment would be to wire the funds to my bank. You might ask, “Why would anyone sell such a valuable antique?” Well, me and my old Palomino are both too old to do the parades anymore. This rig is really a piece of America’s Western Folklore and it doesn’t deserve to just sit in my family room.
